Are latex balloons really compostable?

Hi

I’m writing an article on how environmentally friendly balloons are/aren’t, and have come across websites that claim 100% latex balloons are 100% compostable. Does anyone know if this is true or where I can reliably fact check this?

I’m also unsure how many balloons are 100% latex, so this might be irrelevant in real life scenarios.
